Labordoc is your access to the world's literature on the world of work. It provides access to both electronic and print books, journal articles, reports, conference papers and other documents. Almost all ILO publications are available in full text in Labordoc from 1919 to today.

By title, author, keyword

By collection
Labordoc offers the possibility to browse or search within collections.
You can narrow your search by looking at only ILO publications, or more narrowly, ILO books,
ILO working papers, etc. It is also possible to search just within the collections of the ILO's International Labour Conference or Governing Body. You can also search within journal articles.
At the bottom of the main page, you can select to search only within collections of individual ILO libraries and information centres. For example, ILO Bangkok.

| Title < | You can find all titles that begin with a certain word or phrase. Enter just the first word(s) of a title. |
Phrase search and truncation
| Phrase search | To find an exact phrase you can use the "". Please note that this kind of search may take longer than simply entering the phrase. |

| Truncation | Replace characters at the end of a word by the symbol * to retrieve variant forms. "matern*" returns records containing words maternal, maternity, maternity benefit and even maternelle or maternidad in the title. |

| Stemming | Labordoc offers automatic stemming. Similar to truncation, stemming helps you retrieve items in both singular and plural, masculine and feminine, and some other minor variations. To find an exact term without stemming, use the quotation marks " ". "profession" retrieves professions, professional and professionals. |

The detailed format allows you to see the full bibliographic record directly in the results list without having to click on each record individually. You will also see keywords, abstract, table of contents and other language versions. The other formats are mainly used by information professionals for sharing data. |
Output format |
Select all results on the page by clicking the "select all" box at the top of the results list or select one by one the items that are of interest to you.
Select the format for display:
Bibliographic: title, author(s), publisher, date, URL and ILO Library call number.
Brief display: title, author, date, full text link.
Detailed display: title, author(s), publisher, meeting name, report number, journal title, date, full text links, ISBN, table of contents, abstract, alternate language versions and keywords.
The other formats are mainly used by information professionals for sharing data.
If the document is available in electronic format, a "full text" icon appears directly in the results list. Just click on the icon to open the document.
If there is no "full text" icon, ILO staff, including those on short term contract and interns, may request the item by clicking on the "Request" button and entering your client number and surname.
If you are not ILO staff, then you may consult the item in an ILO Library near you or make a request for an inter-library loan at your library.
If you want to know which library has a document that you want, click on the title of the item that interests you, and then on the tab "Find in an ILO Library". You will see the location(s) which have this item. ILO staff may request items held in any of the ILO libraries around the world. External users may request an interlibrary loan through your own library.
Every search result page offers an RSS feed at the bottom of the page. Click the RSS icon to subscribe to any search or any collection to keep up to date in your area of interest.
